Stand in skipper Trevor lost the toss and Godshill elected to bat first. Harry and Lee opened the bowling on another warm sunny day and after 11 overs Godshill had reached 61-2 with Harry and Lee taking 1 wicket apiece.Craig and Simon took over the attack and immediatley stemed the flow of runs with Craig's figure of 7-1-24-0 and Simon's 7-3-14-2 and only 38 runs coming of thier 14 overs..Nick came on from Craig's end and had no luck in his 4 overs apart from another stunning catch from the young Conrad Carkeet.When Nick finished his spell Godshill were 129-5. On came Paul H and Trevor as the final 5 overs yielded 25 runs and all Godshill's wickets, Paul 1-13 and Trevor 3-12 and Godshill 154-9 After a splended tea Craig and Geoff opened the batting for the Pilgrims's.Runs were being scored freely before Geoff(4) was out caught with our score on 26. Next in was Harry R and he soon made his intentions clear as the score raced along to 51 before Craig was caught behind for 20. Nick joined Harry at the crease and was dropped in the second over he faced. Harry(27) was next out caught and bowled and our score was 65. Next in was big hitting Simon who stated of on the right note by stricking his second ball for 4 but he eventually secumbed to a catch in the deep going for another big hit for 11 runs.Paul H was next in and he and Nick took the score along quickly scoring 78 runs of just 13 0vers with Nick reaching 50 along the way before Nick(58) himself got out going for the glory winning shot.Next ball Paul H (18no) took the glory by hitting the winning boundary and a Win for the Pilgrims.Again a big thanks to all the support we got and Chrissy for scoring. A big congratulations must go to Paul and Karen who got married on the Friday and all the Pilgrims wish them both all the happiness in thier future years together.
